-76 Interrupted-

           76 Interrupted is a collection of photos that sprung from a game based on my home state, West Virginia. I spent 6 months doing nothing but adventuring through this game, then another six months once the quarantine began in 2020.

 

After playing this game for a year you would think I would be bored by now, but I wasn't because I found myself coming back just to take pictures of my beautiful state over and over again. I took over 1,000 pictures and these are the ones that I am most proud of.   

 

The short film is my way of giving back to the characters I created. They gave me an outlet during the most difficult time of my life and I have grown to appreciate them on another level.  I have empathy for A.I. / NPCs in games that I can't contain and I tend to immerse myself a little to well when I am role playing in an RPG. Its a great way to release the emotions that you normally would have to mask.

 

I'm gonna go back to the part about the most difficult time in my life for a minute. When I came home from the hospital on Halloween 2019 I was alone. My partner of 12 years had been in a car accident that nearly took her life and she would spend the next six months in the hospital. 

 

I was experiencing every emotion at once, and I didn't know what to do or who to turn to, so I logged on to my Playstation. It was Halloween so there was a special event in the game and the objectives were to literally destroy everything in your path. I think that moment triggered my fight or flight instinct and gave me the chance to use my characters as a conduit to cope with all of those emotions.

I hope you enjoy all of the photos and videos. I've been working on all of this for about a year and I always thought it wouldn't get the attention it deserved. I could live with only sharing it with my gaming community. Then I found NFTs and ironically enough I already had utility before I even created my first wallet.  <3
